This grilled cheese recipe will enhance your classic grilled cheese. With savory flavors of the ham and Swiss cheese and the tangy sweetness of blueberry barbecue sauce. Your taste buds will be amazed with the mouthwatering combination of tastes!

Blueberry BBQ Grilled Cheese

 ¼ cup salted butter
 12 slices bread
 1 lb ham
 12 slices Swiss cheese
 ½ cup barbecue sauce
 ¼ cup blueberry jam
 3 tbsp mayonnaise
 2 tsp kosher salt

Heat a small saucepan over medium high heat. Add butter until melted.

Spread melted butter onto each slice of bread. On the bottom slices, layer Swiss cheese, ham. Spread the mayonnaise onto the ham. Add another piece of Swiss cheese. Spread blueberry jam and drizzle the barbecue sauce on cheese and season with a pinch of salt. Add the top piece of bread to create the ultimate sandwich.

Heat a 12” skillet over medium heat. Add enough olive oil to generously coat the bottom. Once hot, gently transfer 3 of the sandwiches to the skillet. Cook until crisp and golden on one side, 2 minutes or so.

Use a spatula to gently flip them over. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for another couple of minutes, or until the second side is crisp and golden, and the cheese is melted.
